Board Members

Jennifer Duston

President

Jennifer Duston is a founding member of the Ventura Police Community Foundation. She is a  former educator of over 20 years having served as an Administrator and Teacher. She currently works as a Leadership Consultant for Franklin Covey Education. Jennifer is also highly committed to volunteering and making her community better. She is a member  of 2 local Chambers of Commerce, serves on her daughter's high school parent organization, as well as sits on the VUSD CTE Advisory board and the Superintendent's Parent Advisory Committee. She is a proud active alumni of VCLA (Ventura County Leadership Academy)  as well as the National Charity League Juniors of Ventura County. Jennifer is an ambassador and champion for leadership development in our community.

Margarida Eidson

Treasurer

Margarida Eidson serves as our Treasurer and is active in volunteering for numerous non-profit organizations. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Ventura East where she previously served as the President and is currently active as the Assistance Governor for the Group 7 of our District 5240.


Margarida owns Eidson Management, Inc., a business management company. She is a mother of four boys and currently lives in Ventura with her husband.

Barry Fisher

Board Member

Barry Fisher served as the Deputy City Manager of the City of Ventura for five years where he retired in 2023.  Prior to his position with the City, Fisher served as the Director of the Ventura County Health Care Agency where he oversaw 3,000 employees and an 800-million-dollar budget.  He also served as the County’s Public Health Director and Emergency Medical Services Administrator.  Barry holds a master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration from California Lutheran University and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from The University of Phoenix, San Diego.

Debbie Golden

Fundraising Chair

Debbie Golden manages the Events Committee for the Foundation. A strong supporter of the Buena High School Football Team, Deb helped raise the funds for the current football stadium. She is a member of the East Ventura Optimist Club, lives in Ventura with her husband, and spend her free time with her grandkids.

Cal Remington

Board Member

Cal Remington serves as a long time board member and recently served as our previous President.


He has over 45 years of experience in law enforcement, serving as Chief Probation Officer for various southern California counties. He's also served as a consultant for the National Institute of Corrections, National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, and the Federal Office of Juvenile and Delinquency Prevention. Cal is now retired and lives in Ventura.

Debbie Simpson

Vice President

Debbie Simpson serves as the Vice President and has been a long time board member. Co-owner of AAA Propane Services, Inc., Debbie is an active member of many non-profit organizations including Case Pacifica, where she serves as President. Debbie lives in Ventura with her husband, daughter, and son.

Sarah Abrams

Board Member

Sarah Abrams has belonged to the Ventura community since 2010 and partners with her husband in their business, American Pacific Mortgage, as  the Director of Marketing. They have twin daughters and find themselves volunteering for a variety of local non-profits. In addition to serving on the board of Ventura Police Community Foundation, she serves on the board for the Camarillo YMCA and is active  with the Ventura Chamber of Commerce. Her and her husband are co-founders of local non-profit Love VC, Inc.

Sal Flores

Board Member

Sal knows first-hand what it's like being a troubled teen, turned his life around, and now dedicated his free time to at-risk youth, especially on the westside, and mentors locals kids at the Westpark Community Center. He owns Ideal Upholstery and is passionate about giving back.

Sher Heard

Board Member

Sher Heard is Co-Owner of Comfort Real Estate Services with offices in Ventura and Camarillo.  Serving as the First Vice President for the Women's Council of Realtors of California offers her the opportunity to support women leaders statewide, which is a passion for her.  She is an active community advocate and loves to share the message of supporting local small businesses.  She lives in Ventura with her husband, her mother and their rescue pup Mara.  She has 3 grown children who also reside in Ventura along with 9 grandsons and a granddaughter on the way. Spending time with the family at the beach or camping and travel are her favorite things to do when she is not working.

Cmd. Sarah Heard

Board Liaison

Sarah Heard is currently assigned as the Professional Standards & Development Commander for the Ventura Police Department, which encompasses employee relations, employment, recruitment, background investigations, internal affairs, training and the Volunteers/Volunteer in Policing programs. She also serves as our Public Information Officer.

Roni Grande

Secretary

Roni Grande currently serves as our Foundation Secretary. When not handling foundation projects, she works for Sager Electronics in Field Sales. Roni has previously served as secretary for the Ventura Chapter of the California Dump Truck Owners Association and as the Communications chair for the local Chapter of the National Charity League. She has a daughter and lives in Ventura with her husband.

Kevin Drescher

Board Member

Kevin Drescher joined the board in March 2023. He works as Chief Deputy District Attorney in the Ventura County’s District Attorney’s Office. He was born and raised in Ventura, where he currently lives with his wife.

Katie Grande

Board Member

Katie Grande is a graduate of Ventura High School and San Diego State University. She is currently employed as an Account Manager for Actalent Engineering in Ventura County.  She is a former Tick Tocker of the local chapter of the National Charity League and lives in Ventura.

Brandy Herrin

Board Member

Brandy was born, raised, and educated in Philadelphia. After college Brandy launched her first business, manufacturing heavy-duty work bags designed specifically for women. She sold the business and relocated to Ventura to  take the creative helm of Walden Surfboards. She has helped expand Walden Surfboards from a national to an international brand.  


Brandy has always been involved in community outreach and volunteering both in Ventura and her hometown. She serves on the board  of Inside Track Running Club. Brandy is a distance runner, bookworm, dog mom, and Philadelphia sports fan.
